NBT Book Festival
A three-month book festival is being conducted by the National Book Trust, India, to mark its golden jubilee celebration, in association with the New Century Book House (P) Ltd. at Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Mugappair Salai, Thirumangalam, from Nov. 25.
School Education Minister Mr.Thangam Thennarasu, Mr.Sakura Ozaki, Vice-Consul of Japan, Chennai, Mr.E.Sundaramurthy, former vice-chancellor of Tamil University, Tanjore, and poet Andal Priyadarshini participated in the inaugural function on Nov. 25.
The minister launched the NCBH’S latest book “Kuzhandhaigalae kalamai kelungal” (Children, ask Kalam), a compilation of children’s questions and the President’s answers. He urged the students to make the most of the exhibition.
Mr.Sakura Ozaki launched a book “Japan”, a publication of the National Book Trust.
More than 5,000 titles are on display: Children’ books, l medical, technical, general knowledge, computer, quiz, self-improvement and general books, to name a few. The books are in English and Tamil.
