Gadget To Track School Vans
The high-level task force set up by the state government to look into accidents involving school vehicles is keen to fit them with a Global Positioning System, according to sources in the school education ministry.
Highly placed sources in the ministry said that the task force wanted all the schools in the state to fix the GPS device in their vehicles to monitor their speed and position apart from the number of persons traveling in them.
“The monitoring device could be fixed in the district police control room and in the respective schools allowing them to keep track of the vehicles”,sources said. A GPS device would cost Rs.2, 500, which the school would have to pay.
