Service Commission’s Omissions
The Tamil Nadu Service Commission has conducted Group II Examination very recently for the posts to be filled in the Secretariat. It is reported that for a vacancy of 500 posts, nearly 1.50 lakh assistants had attended the examination all over the state.
Hundreds of young girls and boys thronged the centers for writing the exam. No proper arrangement was made. Hall tickets issued to the candidates mentioned either the wrong address or sometimes even the non-existing address. Instead of mentioning the address of the S.V.Hindu Higher Secondary School, the hall tickets issued to 100s of students carried the residential address of the head master of the school, which is located 13 km away from the school.
The local authorities, Revenue Divisional Officer and the Tahsildar somehow managed and they had conducted examinations in the nearby available noon-meal centers and open playgrounds.
Originally those who wished to write the exams in Tamil were asked to enter the code 002 and 001 for those who write in English. But at the time of issuing question papers, the hall supervisors instructed the candidates to change this and this created a flutter among the students.
The officials at the office of the Tamil Nadu Service Commission when contacted for details refused to even to open their months. The TNPSC has to come out openly on this. Will they?
