· The Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, in its final award, apportions 419 tmcft of water for TN, 270 tmcft for Karnataka, 30 tmcft for Kerala and 7 tmcft for Puducherry. TN CM hails the verdict, Karnataka reserves comments, Kerala is disappointed and Puducherry is satisfied. Karnataka and Kerala hint at going on appeal.
· TN gets Rs.14000 crores as annual plan amount from the Planning Commission.
