Maintenance of south-west (Nairuthi) area
Pandit: Vastusastra helps to live happily and peacefully in a building or house in the natural way.
Student: Yes, Panditji. You have also informed us about the maintenance of south-west area. Main gate or main door should not be located in south-west corner area (may be south of south-west or west of south-west area). But, practically, I am able to see many houses with gate or main door or both in the south-west corner area. On a cursory look, I am able to see costly cars in such houses and this means they are rich.
Pandit : Each defect may result in different consequences. Nairuthi means negative spirit. Nairuthi opening need not affect the wealth.
When the south-west area is open, it will allow the entry of air from Nairuthi area into the premises. Nairuthi air may pollute the mind of the people living there, especially the head of the family and other male members. It may affect the ethical feelings of the male members. They may do many unethical things not only for their earnings but also in day to day life. For instance, they may drink and in some cases, their morality may be down. The worst thing will be that they may try to justify their unethical actions.
As such Nairuthi opening may not affect the earnings but it may affect their character. There is a say that “Money is lost something is lost; but when the character is lost everything is lost”.
Student: We call south-west corner as Kannimula or Kubera Mula. I thought opening of this corner may affect the income.
Pandit: Your are right. Nairuthi opening need not affect the earning or wealth. But cut or reduction in south-west corner (Nairuthi corner) will definitely affect the earnings and wealth.
As per Vastusastra, south-west corner should be perfect rectangular (90 degree)
Vastusastra is based on the principle that energy emanates from north-east area and travels towards south-west through central area (Brahmasthan). If the south-west corner is perfect rectangular, it will help to retain the energy in the site or building for more time. If the south-west corner is cut or reduced, the angle will be wider and the energy will go out quickly. Hence if there is cut or reduction in south-west corner, it may affect the economic growth and wealth.
Student: Panditji, what about a ditch or well or sump in south-west area?.
Pandit: A ditch or well or underground sumps in south-west area may affect the health of the head of the family or its male members. In a case study of persons (mostly head of the male member) who were affected by heart-attack, eighty percent of the houses were having either well or underground sump in south-west area. Perhaps, this may be the reason Vastu principles are insisting that south-west area should be dry, solid and heavy.
Proper maintenance of south-west area will ensure smooth, healthy and happy life.
