Singaporian Recruitment style
Be it a cop, a medical surgeon, a software engineer or a service engineer, the MBA bug has bitten just above every one. Every year, multinational companies swoop down on premier B – schools campuses with the precision of a military maneuver and snatch the choicest talent for their offices around the world. There is a rising demand for Indian-minted MBAs. They classify the premier Indian B-Schools rating on different categories and in all categories, IIM – Ahmedabad leads ahead. ISB – Hyderabad also leads in certain categories. IIMs may be touted as the best benchmark for Indian B – schools. For its academic rigour and industry recognition, IIM-A is recognized the best. For human resource management, XLRI – Jamshedpur is the undisputed leader with great ambience and alumni bonding. For social work studies, it is Tata Institute of Social Science. The campus-industry interface has undergone a sea-change in the recent past with more companies willing to visit B- School campuses – not just for recruitment but for teaching courses, sponsoring events and setting up laboratories and centres. The growth of the economy depends on the industry-academia interface. It is a combination of concept-to-application and application-to-concept. This is best when we have industry experts on campus to share their experiences. The sharing of experience is by way of lectures, CEO services, industry-based projects and monitoring. The environment today is pro-opportunity which means a suitably skilled person has greater choices than before. The recruitment process in Singapore is reported as being told that there would simply be a get-together at the end of the course. Industry stalwarts along with the students of the university come together and everyone gets placed over a party.
