T.S. Eliot of the present century
Mr M.S.Thyagarajan, a resident of Nanganallur has a passion for writing, reading and collecting rare books. He is a native of North Arcot District, Arakonam. He completed his school education in Arakonam and did his B.A in the Government Arts College in Chennai. Later he joined the Tamilnadu Electricity Board as a junior assistant and retired as administrative assistant after serving the TNEB for 30 years.
Mr Thyagzarajan is very interested in writing and reading Tamil books from a young age. He told Chennai Plus that during his school days he frequently visited and spent most of his time reading valuable and informative books.
Mr Thyagarajan also has a passion for Tamil literature from his childhood days.He is a great Tamil writer, who has several books to his credit. He has authored many useful and interesting books which includes short stories, storey books for children, poems etc.,
Mr Thyagarajan told Chennai Plus reporter that he has a rare collection of over 3000 Tamil books which includes novels, short stories, autobiography, biography of famous writers, interview meeting books, poems by eminent authors. He has been collecting rare and important Tamil books for the past 30 years.
Mr Thyagarajan writes under fictitious names and has reviewed the works of famous writers. Thyagarajan is also an excellent literary speaker. He has taken active part in many literary organization meetings and functions. He has also received many prestigious awards, honours and recognition from top eminent people for the good literary works done by him.
Interestingly, Mr Thyagarajan is also called as the T.S. Eliot of the present century. He has written many wonderful short stories and children stories. He told Chennai Plus reporter that all the books penned by him were well received by the readers. Mr Thyagarajan participated in many speeches and group discussions aired by All India Radio. His interview to Mr M.V. Venkataraman, a renowned writer on Chennai Doordharshan Channel was the main highlight of his career. Thyagarajan is also a literary critic.
Mr Thyagarajan thanks his family members, friends and well wishers for all their help and support.
