Pictorial warnings on Tobacco products

As part of an important public health measure by the National Tobacco Control Program, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Indian, pictorial Health warnings on all tobacco products have been made mandatory from World No Tobacco Day, 31st May 2009.The tobacco products will display clearly warnings that consists of text messages and pictures with an aim to prevent intake and motivate tobacco users to quit. A pictorial message installed at the traffic junction of Kilpauk Garden Road and Halls Road, states that Tobacco causes Mouth Diseases to spread awareness about the health hazards of using tobacco products.
