Park Town post box

M.T.C to get new buses

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation will get 300 more buses by September 2009 and by this year-end the metro transport corporation will have about 1000 new buses, says a senior M.T.C official. This would increase the fleet strength of buses to 4000. The state transport department recently issued orders to procure about 1500 new buses for M.T.C and for the Coimbatore and Madurai Government bus transport corporations.

Pallavaram check post

A new police check post is being setup along the 200 feet radial road in Pallavaram, which connects Perungudi. The check post has been erected mainly to monitor the vehicle traffic movement since Pallavaram radial road is a busy stretch. A police check post booth on such a prominent spot is a boon and welcome, say the residents of the locality.

Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Stella Maris College, supported by NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. Of India, will be conducting a women entrepreneurship training programme for a period of four weeks from September 16 – October 15, 2009 at Stella Maris College campus, Chennai.

The programme would focus on training the women to become successful entrepreneurs and would also impart skill development training on preparation of herbal products such as herbal shampoo, pain balm, fairness cream, face wash and processing and preservation of fruits/vegetables such as preparation of juice, jam and pickles. The participants would also be trained on jewellery designing.

The trainees would be given intense training in both theoretical and practical aspects in setting up an enterprise. Kids skating in K.K.Nagar Sivan Park

The photograph taken shows kids using the skating rink that was renovated by the Chennai Corporation inside the Sivan park in K.K.Nagar. The residents of KK Nagar area are happy lot, because the Chennai Corporation has beautified the Sivan park with  more public friendly facilities and features. The park wall is also painted and decked up. New playing equiptment is installed for the children play area.
