Lakshmi Ladies Club, Nanganallur conducted Republic Day events at 46th Street Park. Mrs. Latha Ramanujam President welcomed the gathering. Mr. N. Chandran Vice Chairman Alandur Municipality, S. Narashimalu , 20th Ward Councilor, V. Rama Rao Secretary Lakshmi Nagar Civic Welfare Association participated in the function and distributed prizes to the winners of Fancy dress competition, elocution contest for the students upto 9th standard. Over 100 participants were given books by CSC computer who also conducted a drawing competition for the kids and prizes were given by Mrs. Philomina Raj. Mr. Chandran vice Chairman Alandur Municipality said that the Lakshmi Ladies Club is functioning actively involving the women and children of the area and helping to bring out the hidden talent by organizing kolaappotti, elocution contest so that there is no stage fear at the young age itself.

Mr. S. Natarajan Ex Secretary of the Association, Mrs. M. Yuma Head Mistress Nammalwar Modern Mat. School adjudged the performance of the participants. Mrs. Avayambal, Mrs. Thenmozhi, Lakshmi Rangarajan Mrs Latha Gopal organized the events. Mrs. Kanchana raman Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.
