S.Jaya, a resident of T.Nagar was felicitated by the members of Tamil Nadu Udavikkarm Association for the Welfare of Differenty Abled (Ashok Nagar) and Deenaiya Charitable Trust on March 19 in a function held at Alandur as part of Womenâ€™s Day celebrations. The award was presented by Latha Rajendran (Principal of Dr. MGR Special School for Hearing Impaired, Ramapuram) in presence of T. A. P. Varadakutti (State President, Tamil Nadu Udavikkaram Association for the Welfare of Diffrently Abled) and K. Gopinath (State General Secretary).
Jaya is fluent (speak, read and write) in more than ten languages including Tamil, English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Sanskrit and Marathi. She has converted her multilingual skills into her profession. She teaches languages and her pupils range from students to film personalities to professionals. She is regularly invited by corporate and multi-national companies to teach Hindi to their staff in Chennai and other southern States. She also conducts free tailoring classes for housewives and offers free tuition for Corporation and Government school students during weekends.
