According to the Lakshmi Nagar Civic Welfare Association, the transformer at 7th Street Extension is overloaded. The fault rate in a year exceeds around 80, due to which there is disruption of power supply. Based on the earlier representation made by the Association ,the AE/TNEB/ Nanganallur have installed post at Gowri colony 5 months ago.
But till date no Transformer unit has been installed. The TNEB needs to take immediate action to expedite installation of a Transformer at Gowri colony to relieve the heavy load on 7th Street Extension Transformer, says V.Rama Rao, Secretary of Lakshmi Nagar Civic Welfare Association. Whenever the Velacherry SS power supply fails, there is not other alternate route for continued supply.
The 110 KVA at Pallavaram may be connected to Nanganallur SS by laying cables to nearly 5. 3 K.m. This can be expedited by the concerned authorities at the earliest. The proposal for construction of a 110 KVA sub-station at SAP colony Nanganallur, may be expedited to over come the increase of load.
