Mr.S.Ramanujam is the Founder of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Baktha Jana Sabha. He is actively involved in many social and religious activities. He completed his school education at Ramakrishna Mission School, T.Nagar. He is an Economics graduate from AM Jain College. Right from his school days, Ramanujam has actively participated in many spiritual activities.
He stated that the chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama is done regularly on Saturdays by all the members of the Sabha for promoting world peace, harmony and prosperity. An important activity of the Sabha is in conducting visits to Temples, for group chanting. The Sabha also conducts recitation competitions for school students. Ramanujam said that the recitation of Sahasrnama will help one to come up in life and get rid of worries and problems.
The Sabha which started in 1991 is engaged in promoting world peace and prosperity. The activities of the Sabha consists of Parayanam,Mass chanting, Parayanam in congregation on the occasion of Tamil News Year day, Laksharchana on first Saturdays of Purattasi month and publications.
This divine event that started at Ramanujam/s house had slowly and steadly spread to all the other houses in the locality. Today most of the houses in Nanganallur have been blessed to have the Vishnu Sahasranama chanting in their houses and graced by divine presence. What is amazing is that the chanting has been continuing, this Ramanujam considers a blessing of the Almighty.
The Sabha members conduct competitions for youngsters and prize are given to the winners. The Sahba held a marathon chanting on 1st August 2005 from dawn to dusk. About 3000 people participated in the event. Members of the sabha went on a pilgrimage to Kurukshetra, Brindavan, Gokulam and Mathura and they had their 1000 week Saturday Sahasranama parayanam at Kurukshetra on October 2nd 2010.
The 1003 Sahaasranama Parayanam and Felicitation function was held o 23-10-2010.Sri sabha plans to perform Lakcharchana on Saturday, 24th September 2011 at Sri Lakshmi Sameda Sri Sathyanarayana Perumal Temple, 18th street, Thillaiganga Nagar, Nanganallur at 9am.
