Special Programme On Home And Terrace Gardening

The Greater Chennai District Exnora organised a meeting with Kilpauk Exnora Women’s Guild in order to promote home/roof gardening On Exnora’s request the Dy. Director Horticulture Madhavaram Chennai was kind enough in deputing two Assistant Agricultural Officers attached to T N Horticulture Department namely Mr Suresh and Kalyanasundaram.The programme was held at Shivalaya apartments located at No- 5/2 Temple road in the colony.

Ms Veeralakshmi, President , Kilpauk Exnora women’s Guild welcome the gathering. Mr K Ramadoss General Secretary North Chennai Dist Exnora introduced the officers to participants besides explaining about the activities of the Tamil Nadu Horticultural department. Mr R Govindaraj, Joint General Secretary, Exnora International & President Greater Chennai Dist Exnora presided over the meeting.

He stressed upon the importance of gardening and pointed out a few successful members who achieved good results in South Chennai and insisted the members to make visit to the best maintained eco-friendly and innovative activities in growing vegetables and flowers etc by Mr Indrakumar a senior member of Exnora International.

Mr Suresh and Kalyanasundaram, Assistant Agricultural Officers individually took classes to participants and cleared their doubts for maintenance of successful gardening.at their premises. The officers also invited the members to have a look at the Govt nursery in Madhavaram to know about the nature of activities.Mrs. Bhuvaneswari, Secretary, Kilpauk Exnora Women’s Guild proposed a vote of thanks.
