Founder Statue Unveiled During School Annual Day Celebration

The 40th Annual Day Celebrations of Jaigopal Garodia Vivekananda Vidyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar, Chennai was held in the school premises.

The chief guests for the function were Shri. Narayan Rao, a freedom fighter and Secretary of Jaigopal Garodia National Higher Secondary School, Tambaram and Sitadevi Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School, Tambaram and Shri. Vishwanath Kedia, Chairman, Great Indian Securities Company Ltd.

Shri. Ashok Kediaji, Managing Trustee, JGVV Trust welcomed the gathering. A statue of Shri. Jaigopal Garodia, the founder chairman was unveiled by Shri. Viswanath Kedia, a long time associate and a confidante of Philanthropist Shri. Jaigopal Garodia. Shri. G. Vijayakumar, Principal introduced the Chief Guests and presented the School annual report. A total of 197 students received the awards.

Scholarships were distributed from the Trust for the deserving students. Shri. Narayan Rao in his address recalled his struggle in freedom movement and his memorable association with Shri. Jaigopal Garodia in the service of education and urged the students to fulfill the aspirations of the parents, teachers and involve themselves in building up the nation.

The teachers and staff members were honoured for their meritorious service of 15 years and 25 years to the institution by Shri. Ashok Kediaji, Managing Trustee. Incidentally Mr. G. Vijayakumar the School Principal and the ‘Best Teacher Awardee’ who has put in 15 years of service was also honoured.

At the beginning there was an invocation dance ‘Dasavatharam’ followed by cultural events by KG students, Primary Students and students of higher classes to inculcate patriotism, nationalism, spiritualism.

Tamil Drama, Hindi Drama, English Dramas were also performed. Around 190 students from classes LKG to XII Std participated in the events.Smt. Sukanya Baskaran, Vice-Principal and Ms. Uma (Primary HM) compered the programme. The programme came to a close with National Anthem by Choir students.
