The number of constructional activities taking place in and around Chennai is unprecedented that most of the builders are confronting with acute shortage of labours. Many builders are bringing labour forces from other states to complete their projects within scheduled period. Construction industry is the only field that ensures works to thousands of unskilled labours with wages surpassing to any other field.
It provides succour to all age groups of both male and female. Construction works are piquantly going on without sluggishness. Some building promoters are moaning that affordable housing can not be built to the middle income group and there is no margin in building this kind of dwellings; higher construction costs have greatly squeezed the constructional activities. It is nothing but a stunt that some builders blame low cost building is unviable in the present scenario and even if built, they can not be marketed at the price quoted.
In a globalized spectrum of world trade, inflation, deflation and escalation are unavoidable. The recent spurt in prices of construction materials has squeezed the role of giant leaders only because they were reaping a huge margin thus far. The steep rise of construction and labour costs pose them problem in determining the cost of flats. Taking undue advantage of the situation, they fix exorbitant price and swindle more money from the clients. They would be dragging on their works blaming that materials and labours are not available. But there are some select builders who are prompt in their assignments.
These builders execute their works with sincerity and goodwill to repay the trust the clients reposed upon them. A section of people allege that IT professionls are dictating the cost of buildings as they shell out large amounts for dwelling accommodations. This allegation can not be accepted wholly true. The impact of IT revolution has helped for the development of other areas alike
.
If an affluent executive earning Rs.1 lakh a month can buy a flat for Rs.1.5 crore in prime location in the city, the middle income group can purchase a flat for Rs.10 lakh to 15 lakh with same built-in area in the suburb like Ambattur. Once desolate, Ambattur is getting metamorphosed with large structures of bungalows and flats helping to undergo a complete change in its landscape. More number of multistoried building constructions is undergoing. Today, Ambattur is best identified as a city caught up in a building frenzy.
Be it road widening, shopping mall construction, IT structures and other infrastructure, you probably can not be able to cross an avenue without stepping past some kind of construction activity. Unlike IT corridor areas in the southern suburb, the bore-well water in Ambattur is as good as to be used for cooking and bathing.
Abutting the city, there are many lakes getting filled with rainwater annually. It is a big market potential for adjacent villages and so all vegetables and rural produce are available. It is well connected by rails and roads with all important destinations of the metro. With sprawling trees and varieties of species of plants, the total landscape of Ambattur looks so green and they help to the ground water recharge and catching rain water.
Developers in Ambattur are selling their entire projects within a few weeks whereas in southern suburb, it takes months long and sometimes are found unsold stock. Given the projects undergoing, Ambattur is sensing an unprecedented expansion

The link between human beings and cosmos is the fundamental to Vastusastra. Vastusastra links human body with the cosmic forces around them by channeling the parameters of vibrations, sound, light, and other waves. Therefore, the location, the direction of the buildings and the openings to the buildings have a direct bearing on the lives of those working or living in it.
The Philosophy of the scientists revolves around the concept of five elements called Panch bhutas (earth, water, fire, air and sky). Since the human body and the cosmos are both constituted by these five elements, any disturbance in the cosmos is said to affect the human beings also. While designing the building, it is essential to create congenial vibrations to ensure that its inhabitants enjoy positive state of mind harmonious relationships, increased prosperity harmonious and success in every endeavour.
Apart from Panch blutas, the following natural forces also should be considered for the success of a building.
(1)Sunrays
(2) Magnetic field.
(3) The gravitational force.
Sunrays :
One of the basic principals of Vastusastra is to take advantage of the morning sunrays (Ultra Violet Rays). It is desirable to locate the kitchen in agni mula (South-east area) with windows on eastern side to get the morning rays into the kitchen. These morning sun rays apart from keeping the kitchen free from insects will ensure good health of the cooking lady. When the morning sunrays fall on the cooking lady the ageing process itself is delayed.
Magnetic Field
A good site should have perfect magnetic alignment. If the deviation is more than the permissible limit, then it would be better to make placements according to true north . If the north-south alignment is perfect \, then the other mistakes can be rectified perfectly.
The gravitational force
The control area of a building is known as “ Brahmasthan” and it desirable to keep the area free from any load or obstruction. Further, this area should be free from water, fire, pillar etc. In a specious building control area may be maintained as “court-yard”.
On the whole, Vastusastra is a system that correlates health, prosperity and happiness by balancing the natural forces of energy in a building.

A numbers of trees are getting chopped down across the city roads, especially for widening the roads. It is disheartening to see trees been chopped down at a time when everyone is doing their best and taking care of the environment. Once upon a time, the city roads were dotted with trees providing shade to road users in summer days. A green scene at St.Marys Road, Mandaveli.

An overgrowth of scar tissue at the site of a skin injury
Keloids occurs from such skin injuries as surgical incisions, traumatic wounds, vaccination sites, burns, chickenpox, acne, or even minor scratches. They are fairly common in young women and Blacks. Keloidosis (cheloidosis) is a term used when multiple or repeated keloids are produced.
Most keloids will flatten and become less noticeable over a period of several years. They may become irritated from rubbing on clothing or other forms of friction. Extensive keloids may become binding, limiting mobility. They may cause cosmetic changes and affect the appearance. Exposure to the sun during the first year of keloid formation will cause the keloid to preferentially tan. This dark coloration will become permanent.
There is no known way to prevent the development of keloids in people who are prone to them.
Symptoms
• skin lesion
• flesh-colored, red, or pink
• located over the site of a wound, injury, or other lesion
• nodular or ridged
• Itching during formation and growth.
Diagnosis is made on the basis of the appearance of the skin/scar. A skin biopsy rules out other skin growths (tumors).
