Science, A Boon Or Bane?
Some say that science is constructive, that without science life is meaningless. Everything is made because of science. If there is an emergency, we quickly take our cell phone and communicate with others. We can even get information from Internet and communicate with others by sending mails. If we want to go to a place which is 500 km away, we
use trains, flights and buses.
But some say that science is destructive. They say that science makes a man lazy. A young man who is capable of climbing the stairs uses a lift to go to the first floor even if there is no emergency. This shows how science has made us lazy. When atom bombs were dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, many people died and till now they are affected by its fall-out. Some use the Internet for bad purposes. Science has invented many vehicles. But the increase in the amount of carbon monoxide and rocket launching has made a hole in the ozone layer. This gives a way for the UV rays to fall on our skin
This in turn causes skin cancer.
But, according to me, science is constructive. Anything used for a good purpose remains good. Science has provided us all the essential things. Why should we throw atom bombs and destroy peace? Why should we use Internet for bad purposes? Instead of using polluting fuels, science has invented battery-operated engines, which do not pollute. It’s foolish if we blame science for this. We have to correct ourselves. Thus it is clear that science is constructive.
