DTE Bags National NSS Award
The Indira Gandhi National NSS Award for the year 2005-06 was presented to the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Chennai, for its excellent community development.
Vice President Mr. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat presented the award to Mr. V Seetharaman, programme coordinator, DTE, Chennai, in Pune on Jan. 12 during the inauguration of the XII National Youth Festival.
The award constitutes a scroll, a citation and Rs.1 lakh for programme development.
The directorate has been imparting vocational training to the rural youth and facilitated self-employment to rural women. It has also been conducting programmes in leadership, soft skills and career guidance.
