Devotional Songs CD Released
Binni Krishnakumar, carnatic and playback singer, released an audio CD on devotional songs rendered by V. Sree Chitra at MOP Vaishnav College for Women auditorium on April 15. The CD titled ‘Iraiamudae… Isaiamudae…’ is a debut venture by Sree Chitra, a budding vocalist. Mr. M. Chander, president, VDS Arts Academy, received the first copy of the CD.
The album has eight songs each dedicated to one God. The invocation song ‘Mooladharamoorthi…’ in ragam Hamsadwani is a Papanasam Sivan composition. The rest of the songs are penned by cine lyricist Kadhal Mathi. N.Arun, cinema music director, has scored music for the album.
The music was recorded live using nearly 15 instruments.
Earlier Sree Chitra also presented a carnatic vocal concert under the VDS’s Talent Revealing Opportunity Programme.
