Encourages and motivates students for best performance
Mrs Hemalatha Muralidharan is the founder and president of Arcadia – The place beyond school, which is Chennai’s first integrated student life cycle management service provider. Hemalatha, a software professional, started her career in the year 1989. During her stay abroad, working as a teacher, she observed the difficulty faced by the working parents to accommodate home and work. She also observed that the parents of slow learners were finding it very difficult to manage spending quality time with their children and also in managing their office work and social evenings. To bridge this gap, she returned to India and started the ‘Beyond school concept” where a student gets promoted academically with the necessary soft skills and other talent and skill oriented co-curricular activities. For this purpose, she has introduced many activities for the students like drawing, painting, chess, dance, theatre, puppet club, library etc., Arcadia, a brain child of Hemalatha Muralidharan opened in the year 2000. Under Hema’s leadership, Arcadia is the first in the industry to provide service across the entire students life cycle. It is Hema’s vision and belief that is the foundation for the success of Arcadia’s growth. Mrs Hemalatha told the Chennai Plus reporter Elwyn that she started Arcadia to encourage and motive the students to bring out their best performance.
Mrs Hemalatha is highly qualified and experienced in the computer field. She has worked as software programmer and computer faculty in various well recognized educational institutions at Dubai and Chennai city. Mrs Hemalatha told Chennai Plus reporter that her future plans are to expand the existing Arcadia premises, open new centers in Chennai and other cities and to open a concept based learning center for toddlers shortly.
