The photo shows not one but three speed breakers painted in bright yellow which have been erected before all the pedestrian crossings in front of the Madras High Court building premises along the N.S.C Bose Road in Parry’s. A Traffic Policeman told the Chennai Plus reporter that these speed breakers are essential to caution the motorists to drive slow as many people cross this road everyday.

Mr. S.R.Jangid has assumed charge as the Police Commissioner for the newly created Chennai City Suburban Commissionerate. The Director General of Police Mr. K.P.Jain inaugurated the new Commissionerate Headquartered at St. Thomas Mount on Wednesday the 23rd July 2008 in the presence of the Chennai City Police Commissioner Mr. R. Sekar. The Police Department official sources told the Chennai Plus reporter that three Police Districts namely of St Thomas Mount, Madhavaram and Ambattur comprising of about 38 Police Stations and around 8 All Women Police Stations would function under the newly formed Commissionerate. The important Police Stations that will function under the new Commissionerate are Meenabakkam, Pallavaram, Chrompet, Tambaram, Madipakkam, Palavanthangal, Adambakkam,Chitlapakkam, Selaiyur, Airport, Nanbambakkam, Poonamalee, Porur SRMC, Kunrathur, Mangadu,Ambattur,Korattur, Maduravoyal,Avadi, Avadi Tank Factory, Pattabiram, Pudupet, Truninravur, Thiruverkadu, Madhavaram Milk Colony,Redhills, Ennore,Manali and Puzhal. According to the Police sources Mr.S.R.Jangid the former Additional Commissioner of Police,Chennai City is the first Police Commissioner to assume charge at as the newly created Commissionerate The Chennai City Suburban Commissionerate office is located at Police Office Road,(Butt Road), St. Thomas Mount,Chennai-16. Consequent on the photo news article titled Halloween Tree which was published earlier in this Weekly Tabloid circulated all over Chennai City highlighting about a huge completely dead road side tree standing in a dangerous position at the North Parade Road in St. Thomas Mount, the concerned authorities took quick action to cut down the tree. The area residents appreciated the authorities for the swift action taken.
