Deaf Pole Vault Won Silver Medal

wo Tamil Nadu Athletes - Gerald Mark Wilcox – Pole Vault (Southern Railway) and S.Thirupathi Raja – St. Louis Student Sprinter represented India in the First World Deaf Athletic Championships held at in Izmir – Turkey. They traveled on 22nd September sponsored fully by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affair’s, Government of India. Mr. Gerald Wilcox won Silver Medal in 4.10 m in Pole Vault, Gold Medal - 4.40 m goes to Takehana of Japan and Ametov Ali of Russia got 3rd Bronze medal - 4.00.metre. Mr.S. Thirupathi Raj was unfortunately eliminated in 100 M in the heats while running in 7th Lane, he clocked 11.87 sec. A research study that monitors the sleep patterns of 15 women volunteers in Germany has found that the scent of flowers kept in the bedroom leads to sweet dreams.
