Passport Application Process Simplified
The Regional Passport Office and the Chennai Suburban Police have simplified the process of verification of people who have applied for passports. The Regional Passport Officer Sumathi Ravichandran and Chennai Suburban Police Commissioner S R Jangid said that the details of police verification would be sent through e-mail between the respective offices. ‘The idea came when we saw several lower and middle class people who aspire for jobs outside India getting stuck because of delays in making their passports. We decided that going online will cut considerable time wasted in physically procuring and sending the copies,’ said Chennai Suburban Police Commissioner S.R. Jangid.
