Mini Carnival

V.Nagasundaram, Member Anti-Corruption Movement, Tamil Nadu in interested in helping the LPG Gas connection consumers in reducing the tension and problems their face in obtaining the Gas Cylinders from their Franchise/Gas Agencies of IOC, BPC, and HPC etc. V.Nagasundaram told Chennai Plus that he has written a letter to Thirumathi Mythili K.Rajendran, I.A.S, Collector, Chennai, suggesting that the public should be provided the information such as Date, Last date on which the gas cylinder was supplied to the consumers with the last number of booked to which the cylinder has been supplied, Total number of cylinders available, Name and mobile number of the Franchise or Gas Agency to be contacted in case of any difficulty in obtaining the cylinder on time. He also suggests that the IOC, BPC and HPC should depute their respective PRO to the Franchise to check the records available with them by surprise check at regular intervals. If this process is introduced it will help the consumers to a great extent to get gas cylinders without much of problems, he further added. award-winning-djMr.Dean Guest a resident of A.P.Road, Choolai is the prize winner of Future Shock- War of D.Js-08.The event was held at GRT Grand Hotel by Sasha Events.He did his school education at Doveton Corrie Higher Secondary School, Vepery.At present he is doing his 2nd year B.A.Economics at Loyola College.He told the Chennai Plus reporter that disk jockey(also known as DJ ) is a person who selects and plays recorded music for an audience.He futher stated that role of selecting and playing recored music for an intended audience is the same for every disc jockey. According to Mr.Dean the selected music, the audience, the setting, the preferred medium, and the level of sophistication of sound manipulation are factors that differentiate the various DJ types. He said that the DJ equipment may consist of excellent sound system, D.J.mixer, headphones, electronic effect unit, special D.J digital controller, samples etc.Dean told Chennai Plus that the primary goal of a D.J. is to make people dance. He said that there are two important aspects for a D.J., namely the process of mixing and the song selection. In a nut shell just as a photographer selects scenes that already exist and packages them in a way that makes them appealing to an audience, a D.J. picks music that already exists and packages it in a way that makes it appealing to an audience.

Common Eternity - Lady Junction

common-eternitylady-junctionArtist Swagata Bhattacharjee is a native of Shillong, Meghalaya. She did her education in Economics from “North Eastern Hill University” and her Bachelor degree in Education. At present she is teaching Art and Design in Hari Shree Vidyalayam, Chennai. Swagata is a self taught Painter.
She got interested to do painting from her mother, who had a very strong aesthetic sense. Swagata grew up in a vibrant folk environment with a unique social fabric studied different schools of folk tradition of India. Swagata told Chennai Plus that her husband Tarit Bhattacharjee, an Aluminus of Kalabavan Santiniketan is a well known painter and a great inspiration for her.
Swagata has taken active part and attended a number of workshops &exhibitions including the solo exhibition held at Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata  in  May2008,   a group exhibition at Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata in July 2008, a group show in Shillong Mehalaya  during  November 2008 and in a group exhibition of Drawing & Paintings at Goganendra Gallery at Kolkata in February 2009. Her recent exhibition titled Common Eternity was held at Sri Parvati Gallery, Eldams Road, Teynampet from 14th to 20th March 2009.Her other fields of interest are Interior Decoration, Music and Dance.
According to Mrs. Geetha Muthiah, Director Hari Shree Vidyalayam, and Smt. Deivanai Muthuganesan, Principal Hari Shree Vidyalayam, Swagata’s enthusiasm and passion, reflected in her role as a facilitator in her art classes, is both commendable and infectious. Her versatility and creativity, apparent in her every work, is greatly appreciated. According to Mr. A.V. Ilango, Eminent Artist and Art Director, Swagata’s works are quite naive; they have strong ethnic flavors of the folk arts of India. Risky Jafferkhanpet Overbridge

risk-road-below-bridgeThe open gap and large quantity of waste materials and debris lying below the Jafferkhanpet over bridge road needs to be cleared up by the concerned authorities as it is posing a hindrance and a risk to the motorists especially to the pedestrians. The motorists and pedestrians said that the broken stones and blocks is causing inconvenience and is making the road to look ugly and dirty. Moreover the broken Iron Girder which prevents heavy vehicle entry and brighter road lights also needs to be reinstalled as a safety measure.
