It is reported that Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa has sanctioned Rs.25 crores for upgrading infrastructure facilities in veterinary hospitals and allied animal husbandry medical centers in various parts of Tamil Nadu State.
According to official sources Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa ordered the release of the amount for the year 2012-13 to set up 49 animal husbandry hospitals, 353 animal husbandry medical shops, maintenance and refurbishing of four official buildings accounting for Rs 22 crores. The J.Jayalalithaa-led Government has been implementing several welfare measures in its vision 2023 agenda.
The various schemes of the Tamil Nadu Government have been appreciated by many people. The Madras Veterinary College is a veterinary college situated in Vepery, Chennai, India.
The college was established on October 1, 1903, in a small building known as Doblin Hall.The college became affiliated with the University of Madras in 1936, and became the first college to offer the bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine in India. In 1989, the first veterinary university in India, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), was formed, and the college became affiliated with it.
