Motivating Children To Acquire Knowledge And Reach Great Heights In Life

The School children of St. Mark’s Middle School, Vepery, had celebrated the 65th Birthday of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on 27.02.2013 in a grand manner.

About 65 students made use of the golden opportunity and participated in the Thirukural Competition. Earlier Eye Camp and Dental Camp was organised as part of the celebration and 15 Children were provided free spectacles. Children recited Thirukural’s ranging from 30- 100 couplets for various age groups all the 65 participants were appreciated with small gifts.

Mr.Ramanan 103rd Ward Secretary of AIADMK gave prizes and cash Awards to the winners in each class.The proud winners were G.Sangeeth (Std VIII) B.Durga (Std VII), J.Durga (Std VI), S.Shruthika (Std V), S.Priyadarshini (Std IV), V.Chandralekha (Std III), G.Priscilla (Std II) and M.Mohammad Irfan (Std I).

Mr.D.Mahilanban M.C, Chairman Education Council congratulated the children and urged them to acquire leadership qualities. He spoke of the achievements of chief minister and the many good works she has done for the cause of Education.

Mrs.J.D.Chalceydoney, M.A, B.Ed Headmistress thanked the chief guests for their encouragements. With these words of Thiruvalluvar children were motivated to acquire knowledge and reach great heights in life.

Eye Screening and Dental Camp

As many as 200 students of St.Mark’s School were befitted by a free eye screening and dental camp. The eye camp was done by Vasan Eye care. The dental check up was done by Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital (MADCH) located at Chennai, Maduravoyal.
