The Chennai based Music Composer Ganesh B Kumar, a resident of is the first Indian music composes to score the entire music soundtrack for the Hollywood movie Nine lives of Mara. He has been awarded the U.S. Best Music Soundtrack Awards for the year 2008 by the tabloid Witch Award Festival Committee.

M.C.Comagan is the Music Director of Comaganin Ragapriya Orchestra which is a visually challenged music troupe. He told the Chennai Plus reporter that the Orchestra was started in the year 1991 on the14th April, Tamil New Years Day. The Orchestra participated and won the second prize in an open competition with famous leading orchestra in the year 1995.M.C.Comagan said that they were the only visually challenged troupe in the competition. In 1999 Oct 2nd the Orchestra created a Limca Book of Record for making a musical show continuously for 16 hours of non stop musical concert in India. In 2003 the troupe appeared in the famous film of Directors Cheran’s Autograph song Ovoru Pookalume with Actress Sneha. That song won 2 National Awards for the year 2004. After that the Orchestra acted in the Telugu Movie Naa Autograph with Actress Boomika. Later in 2006 the orchestra acted in Director Selvabarahy’s Movie named Pasupathy with Sindhu Thulani for the song Uyir thantha Thaye for 4 scenes. M.C.Comagan was offered to compose music for the entire movie Muthal Muthalai Starring K.Bhagyaraj, he was also in charge of the screenplay and story of the movie. This is the first time in Tamil Film industry that a visually challenged person composed music for the entire film with 5 songs and rerecording. In 2007 April 27th to 29th the Orchestra created a new Guinness World Record for Performing 50 Hours of non stop light music with 24 visually challenged musician, During that show the orchestra rendered 682 film songs without any repetition. The previous record was held by an orchestra from Hungary for performing 48 hours. The orchestra got the Tamil Nadu State Award from the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Dr.M.Karunanidhi for the best self employer musical group for the year 2006.
