According to official Tamil Nadu State Government sources, World Bank based upon the request by Tamil Nadu Government has decided to extend the water management scheme till September 2014. As a result, 310 lakes, 63 reservoirs will be renovated and upgraded at a cost of Rs.258 crores.Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa stated that the Government has been taken various measures to ensure all water bodies in the State are improved and maintained well.
