Facilitators For Popularising ATVM’s

Southern Railway has introduced a scheme of facilitators for popularising automatic ticket vending machines that have been installed at surban railway stations through which people can obtain tickets by using a smart card. Hover since many do not use the facility, facilitators will be posted to help the train passengers to use the automatic ticket machines. According to southern Railway sources retired employees are being engaged as facilitators to make the public aware of the benefits of using ticket machines. It is reported that facilitators will be posted in as many stations along the Chennai Division to help the public. According to official sources, Eastern Railways is running a total of 472 suburban EMU trains with 12-car rakes in Howrah and Sealdah Division. In May 2012 Eastern Railways added 37 more trains with 12-car rakes. Similarly Southern Railway can also introduce more 12-car rakes EMU trains along the Beach -Tambaram section so that the passengers can have a comfortable journey especially during peak hours..
