Spacious Pedestrian Overpass At Egmore Railway Station

Chennai suburban train commuters earlier used to face loads of hurdles due to the narrow foot over bridge at Egmore Railway Station. A new wide overpass connecting the railway station platforms with Gandhi Irwin Road has helped and eased congestion to the maximum extent possible. Now, train passengers move more freely and easily. Passengers with luggage are the worst affected. The new FOB is built parallel to the existing one. It connects entry-exit gates at both ends of the station. Besides, it would be interlinked with the existing FOB, to streamline outstation train passenger movement.
