It has been raining off and on. There was a heavy shower on Thursday morning which caused heavy water logging in many of the city roads. The photo shows stagnant rain water along Sterling Road, Nungambakkam. The city’s busy roads such as Kodambakkam High Road, New Avadi Road, Poonamallee High Road and Nungambakkam High Road had water logging.
The showers during the evening posed problems for motorists as it had resulted in traffic congestions. Long traffic pile ups continued to be the city’s major problem especially at the Guindy Kathipara junction, Grand North Trunk Road and Tondiarpet High Road. The motorists had a tough task negotiating the damaged and uneven surface of the Taramani Velachery Link Road.
