The students of B.Sc Computer science, Loyola College, Chennai inaugurated a Padippagam (Study Centre) for the welfare of Muthumariamman Nagar slum at Arumbakkam. The students made generous contribution to meet the expenses of making a thatched hut, fans, tube lights, black board and study materials like charts of alphabets, numbers, good habits and leaders of the country to be displayed on the walls. Rev. Dr. B. Jeyaraj.SJ., opened the study centre and greeted the student’s effort and congratulated the students to be a role model for others.
Rev.Dr.G. Joseph Antony Samy,SJ., Director ,Department of Outreach said that by making use of this study centre, school students must get first rank and also he announced prizes for the first rank holders. He greeted the Outreach students and asked them to work for the tangible development of the slum dwellers by their committed efforts. Prof. Nester Head of the Department of Computer science said that he is proud of his department students and greeted them for their good work.
