CMRL Work At Corporation Parks

The photo shows the Metro rail construction work under way at Nehru Park on Poonamallee High Road. The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has taken over the Chennai Corporation park in Ashok Nagar, Poonamellee High Road-Nehru Park, Thiru-Vi-Ka Park in Shenoy Nagar, Nehru Park on Poonamallee High Road, and May Day Park in Chintadripet for the project.Metro Rail official said a restoration committee, involving NGOs, would draw up a plan to renovate all the four parks once construction work gets over.

Metro Rail Limited has now taken over the Chennai Corporation park in Ashok Nagar for the construction related activities. Preparatory work on launching TBM’s (Tunnel Boring Machines) has already initiated at Nehru Park. The work is for the underground section
